About Our Institution

Who We Are

InfoTimes is a Toronto-based Arabic data journalism institution, founded by Amr Eleraqi in 2014 and a GEN Award recipient in 2018. We connect reporting and training with media monitoring, discourse analysis, newsroom AI localization and governance, and custom tools for organisations’ own data.

Our Vision

Every Arabic-speaking journalist should have the skills and tools to ask questions of data.

Our Mission

We bring what we learn in newsrooms into teaching, and the tools we build back into editorial work.

What We Offer

What we do

Three connected areas of work: investigating with data, sharing skills and building newsroom tools.

Journalism

Investigations and interactive stories that start with a question and work towards evidence readers can verify.

Training

Practical courses in Python, R and data visualisation, taught in Arabic with examples from real reporting.

AI tools

Tools for monitoring news and analysing Arabic text, including the NewsScope news intelligence platform.

Services for organisations & newsrooms

Monitor discourse. Adapt AI. Build tools. Connect workflows.

Alongside data journalism and training, we offer four areas of collaboration. We agree on the question, deliverables and scope with you before work begins.

Workflow automation & integrations

Connect your team’s existing tools to automate repeated tasks, from collecting and organising data to updating reports and alerts, with human review scoped to the project.
