About InfoTimes / Since 2014

Journalism that starts with a question, and follows the data.

InfoTimes is a Toronto-based Arabic data journalism institution, founded by Amr Eleraqi in 2014. Our work connects data-driven reporting, practical journalist training and AI tools for newsrooms.

Our story

Reporting, teaching and building belong together.

Founded in 2014, InfoTimes works on a practical question: how can Arabic-speaking journalists find data, make sense of it and turn it into reporting readers can examine for themselves?

We bring newsroom experience into teaching, and the tools we build back into editorial work. Our learning references and software support the same reporting process rather than standing apart from it.

Alongside journalism and training, we offer media monitoring and discourse analysis, AI localization and governance for Arabic editorial workflows, and custom tools and apps—including chatbots grounded in an organisation’s own data. Deliverables, human review and access requirements are scoped for each collaboration.
